Cellar Conversion Project - Lancashire
This large mid-terraced property in Lytham St Annes had an unused cellar space extending beneath the entire footprint of the property.
Cellar waterproofing specialists, RTC Group were called in to convert this cellar area into usable living space.
Waterproofing was carried out using an internally-applied Oldroyd cavity drainage system (BS8102: Type C) with an Aquadrain perimeter drainage channel laid around the perimeter of the cellar, leading to a sump and pump.
Exterior works were also carried out to provide better access to the cellar and to increase levels of natural light. These included the excavation of earth below a small cellar window to provide space for a glass door.
The completed cellar conversion greatly expanded the habitable space in the building - providing an additional living room, a wet room, and a sauna.
