Vandex Cementitious Waterproofers
Vandex waterproofing slurries are cementitious powders that are mixed with water before being applied by trowel or spray. Once cured, they form an impermeable barrier that prevents the ingress of water. Vandex waterproofing slurries have a wide range of applications in the construction industry, however the following slurries are commonly used in basement waterproofing projects:
Vandex Super is a "crystalline active" waterproofing slurry specifically designed for use on concrete. When Vandex Super is applied to the concrete surface it reacts with the free lime in the concrete to form insoluble crystalline complexes. These block pores and minor cracks in the concrete, making it waterproof. Each 25Kg bag of Vandex Super covers over 16m2 making it extremely economical in use. Vandex Super can be applied by brush or spray.
Vandex BB75 is the best-selling tanking slurry in the Vandex range and is widely used on cellar conversion projects. It is typically applied by brush or spray to form a waterproof layer that bonds to the underlying substrate.
Vandex BB75E is an elasticised version of Vandex BB75 that benefits from enhanced flexibility and crack-bridging properties. It is typically used as a primary waterproofing system for newbuild basements and at the floor-wall junction detail in basement conversion projects. Vandex BB75E is supplied as a 25Kg bag of standard Vandex BB75 with a 10 litre pack of Vandex PK75 elasticiser. Mixing these two products produces Vandex BB75E.
Vandex Unimortar 1 is a waterproofing and repair mortar that can be applied in layers of 6mm - 12mm thickness. This allows basement conversion projects to be completed with a single coat - saving time and labour costs. Unimortar 1 is also commonly used to form a waterproof fillet at wall-floor junctions and on kicker joints.
